So I am once again coming back to Guildwars, and currently in the process of reinstalling it. I haven't played in a really long time and I have no idea what has happened. So if you guys could inform me about everything or anything important that has happened while I was gone that would be great. If I had to guess how long I've been gone, it would be around 3-4 years probably.
I also have a few questions I would like to ask you guys. 1. My favorite class has always been a Minion Master. So if anyone could give me some tips on them, or what has been changed to them, that would be great. 2. While browsing through this site I noticed Guildwars 2. So I poked around and found out more information on it. The big question to me is will I be able to transfer my old charracters to GuildWars 2. It's just that I have a lot of minis and stuff that I would like to keep. (The minis btw was probably the whole reason I came back to GuildWars :P) So thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out. |

2. As of now you wont be able to import or bring your character along when you play GW2 but you will be able to somehow use what you dedicate into the hall of monuments |

hey, well as a minion master who's played a long time in a prophecies only account, I had always been frustrated w/ the lack of good necro elites. Well aura of the lich has been buffed and I like it a lot now because it can condense your necro bar a lot so you don't have to add new many raise minion spells not to mention the increased minion survivability and minion management tools. I definitely recommend that you check their skills and play around with some of the more powerful buffs to the pve skills. I think the info you're looking for about HoM is in the wiki.

Thanks for the help guys. I have all the games except EotN btw. I might get it if my time at GW works out well. Also if I could have some more info on question #2 that would be great.

However, I agree with this advice on getting the other campaigns. It will greatly increase the skills available allowing you to get the most effective bars. A few elites for an MM that i would recommend are Aura of the lich for corpse light areas Order of the Undeath to really give your minions some damage Jagged Bones is also a good option for corpse light areas because it will allow you to convert all dieing minions to jagged horrors. These are just the 3 i use most, there are other options as well to look into, but i am probably not the most experienced necro around so ill leave that up for another player. |

On question 2: You will not be able to transfer items/armour/whatever from your existing chars into Guild Wars 2.
GW2 takes place ~350 years after the events in GW. If you purchase the Eye of the North expansion, there is a Hall of Heroes that you can "archive" your characters accomplishments and this info is to be carried over to GW2, but no one is sure exactly how it will be applied in GW2. Maybe your GW2 will have a mission that uncovers a tomb of his ancesters and that turns out to be the hall. Uncovering this ancient weapons and armour. Pure speculation on my part. |

Check out the wiki
Everything in the game can be found here, the unofficial wiki is more organized in my opinion. About minion masters, sadly in higher end area's they aren't favored as damage dealing but for temporary meat shields. There is also a minion cap depending on your death magic strength to avoid massive armies of minions. |

As far as Guild Wars 2 goes, you will not be able to transfer your character, you won't transfer any items, weapons or miniatures. There will be some kind of link between your GW1 and GW2 accounts through the Hall of Monuments that you get access to in Eye of the North. However it is not known exactly what this will be although it is almost certain there will be no direct transfer of anything. Good luck and have fun. |

The main change to MM from that long ago is no more 50 minion armies. You now run around with about 10 minions.
Your best bet is to just create a new character and play the game from scratch. Join a guild (check the Guild Connections section) for more immediate help. And, as said, check out the wiki, the official wiki is available ingame through F10 or Help on Menu or by typing /wiki in the chat bar.
